Trip Report: 36 Hours in Mexico
Review: Alaska Airlines First Class SJC – GDL

I had never travelled within Mexico, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with security lines. I decided to book a business class ticket which would give me access to priority lines. Turns out that was completely unnecessary, because security was a breeze.
I had about half an hour before boarding was supposed to begin, so I headed to the VIP Lounge (East) located near Gate 14. I accessed the lounge using my Priority Pass, and I was traveling with two of my coworkers, so I brought them in as well.
The lounge is pretty small, with a few seating areas, a meeting room, and an area with a pool table.
Since it was 9am, there was a decent breakfast offering, including fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries and hot items:
The lounge attendants offered to make us coffee drinks, which were delivered to our table in a few minutes:
The lounge had screens with flight info, which was useful because our flight’s gate had changed. I would have never known, since TripIt never notified me of the gate change.
Bottom Line
Though LoungeBuddy tags this lounge as “Basic”, I think it’s worth a detour during breakfast time for some food and coffee. Definitely beats waiting at the gate.
