I frequently read Conde Nast Traveler (and listen to their podcast, too!). They recently posted the following article: The Best Cross-Body Bags for Travel. I always travel with a crossbody bag, so this kind of content is right up my alley. But then I started clicking through the slideshow and saw recommendations such as:
Which basically had me like…
These are my criteria for a travel-friendly crossbody bag:
- Zipper. There should be a zippered compartment for wallet, travel docs, etc.
- Color. When travelling, I try to pack clothes and accessories from the same color palette. Even better if it can transition from day to night.
- Affordable. Bags that look flashy can attract unwarranted attention from thieves.
That being said, here are my picks:
Youna Bucket Bag ($40) — This is my go-to travel bag, it has a roomy zippered middle compartment and an open section where I usually put a sweater and/or water bottle.
Lo&Sons Pearl Bag ($248) — I don’t own this bag but I have been eyeing it for awhile. I love the two (!) zippered compartments.
mochithings Travelus Leather Bag ($80) — I have also been eyeing this bag. The zippered compartments are a necessity, and the price point is great.
Cynthia Rowley Layla Leather Camera Bag ($45) — Florals are great for spring and summer travel! Light pink and navy can both be great neutrals. With this price point, you can buy both. (I did.)
